About Neil P. Bardhan, Ph.D.

Science professionals have so many reasons to present stories about their work: conferences, media appearances, outreach. I can't wait to help you discover your stories.

I have always found how humans speak to—and understand—each other to be fascinating. I studied cognitive science at The Johns Hopkins University, then earned a Ph.D. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Rochester. My academic path led me to research psycholinguistics in The Netherlands and to teach undergraduates in Germany, where I began to facilitate scientists building narratives around their work. I shifted my professional focus from researching cognitive science to applying it in technical presentations.

When it became clear that my passion for helping STEM professionals and students present complex stories would drive my future, I started Bardhan Consulting in Philadelphia, a hub of innovation. I have also led storytelling and improvisational theater workshops with several groups, including First Person Arts and improvscience. My experience as a performer has helped form a strong, broad foundation of the approaches I use when coaching individuals or leading team exercises. My toolkit for facilitating communication continues to grow, including successfully training in mediation and conflict resolution.

Let's talk about how I can help you.
